City South Physiotherapy is located in South Melbourne and has provided physiotherapy services to the local community since 1987, specializing in the assessment and treatment of sports and spinal injuries. We are an experienced team of physiotherapists with expert diagnostic and manual therapy skills. City South Physiotherapy provides excellent service and a high level of patient care.
Our practice has physiotherapists who have provided services to an AFL Football Club for over 15 years, and we have provided physiotherapy services to Port Melbourne Football Club in the VFL, since 1991. With our numerous sporting club affiliations we are very experienced in the treatment of various sporting injuries.
City South Physiotherapy has physiotherapists with extensive experience in the treatment of back and neck pain. We provide hands on manual therapy skills such as massage and joint mobilizations and help people return to their normal daily activities at home and work following an injury.

Clinical Exercises in gym with use of different types of equipment including reformers and trapeze, weights, resistance bands, and balance boards
Real Time Ultrasound Imaging (RTUI)
Dry Needling
Rehabilitation following surgery or injury including exercise programs
Re-education and retraining to prevent recurring injuries
Referral for X-ray or MRI if required
Advice and assistance with referral to specialist doctors such as orthopaedic surgeons if required
Practice Owner and Principal Physiotherapist
Craig has been the owner of City South Physiotherapy since 1995 and has worked in the practice since 1991, following his graduation as a physiotherapist from La Trobe University in 1990. Craig has also worked as a senior clinical physiotherapist at Carlton Football Club in the AFL where he provided physiotherapy services from 2006-2020. Prior to this, he was physiotherapist and head of medical services at Port Melbourne Football Club in VFL from 1991-2006 and physiotherapist for VFL state team from 2000-2006.
Craig has extensive clinical experience resulting in excellent diagnostic skills, so he can assess your condition or injury and help provide the best possible treatment options and outcomes. He is a very ‘hands on physiotherapist’ so will use his clinical skills as part of your care, as well as provide exercise programs when needed.
Craig endeavours to find the fastest pathway to recovery for his patients and enjoys helping them with their return to sport, normal daily activities or work. He is experienced with treatment of all sporting and spinal injuries including complex cases and post-surgical rehabilitation. His clinical interest areas are in back and neck pain, sporting injuries and rehabilitation and lower limb biomechanics. He uses Real Time Ultrasound Imaging (RTUI) for assessment and treatment of lumbo-pelvic disorders and dry needling when indicated .
Qualifications/ Professional memberships:
Physiotherapist
Paul graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Paul then worked from 2018-2023 in private practice in New Zealand where he gained valuable experience with a varied caseload of clients and a diverse range of musculoskeletal injuries. He had also previously worked as sports trainer with a rugby league team from 2015-2017, where he assisted with management of sports injuries and their prevention.
Paul undertook post graduate studies from 2020-2022 at University of Otago, Otago, NZ where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Papers undertaken as part of his studies included sports physiotherapy, biomedical science and clinical practice.
Paul moved to Melbourne in 2023 where he then joined City South Physiotherapy. His clinical interests include back and neck pain, sports injuries, soft tissue injuries and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. He aims to help patients return to their pre-injury and normal daily activities at home, work and sport as soon as possible.
